Aurora Ristorante

9 Apr

One of my fave spots for Italian (and the food is good too)

Il Polipo: Grilled Mediterranean octopus atop potato-celery salad available on Aurora Manhattan's lunch menu.

To call home cooked meals merely an Italian tradition would be like referring to the iphone as a calculator. Real Italian cooking isn’t just noodles or meatballs- it’s a word: fresh.  I would bet that anyone in Italy would agree that dining out, is more often a disappointment than a pleasure. Having grown up with Italian grandmothers and mothers,  most Italians were raised savoring organic love and sweet care, served  to them in the form of food, impossible to duplicate.

Why Are National Italian Sport Team Uniforms Blue?

Gli Azzurri

Blue is worn by Italian soccer players, Olympiads and represents over 6 centuries of tradition.

Madonna Inn; Minimalism Out.

The Love Nest Room

I believe that in a former life, I was a hotelier because I am obsessed with the decor of temporary habitats that and I have an incredible knack for living out of a suitcase while traveling.  The most recent destination of my desire is the Madonna Inn, which is located just outside of San Luis Obispo, California. It boasts 110 unique rooms whose themes range from golf to daisies to ponies.

Some of the rooms have 4 beds in them, others–beds of rock coat the walls. Known for floral wallpapers and Maximalistic design- the Madonna Inn is an experience of over 50 years in the making.

Viewing the gallery rooms is like drinking a tall glass of Elvis Presley with a Bananza chaser served by a warlock. Check it out!

DON’T CRY FOR ME: I’LL BE IN ARGENTINA

18 Jul

The desire to experience the world of the Faena Hotel Universe in Buenos Aires has been a part of my life for 3 years.

When I finally awake in the mystical 3rd dimension, I may not return to the life I once knew to be reality.

I will ride my desire as if steering a bull on a speed boat.
